Ballroom Games

Hey hey! Back with a weekly update!

I’ve added a new piece of animation to the Film & Animation page! Crazy, right? I mean, it makes far too much sense to place something in the correct category, no?

Stop making bad jokes, or else…

You can now find information and pictures from Ballroom Games on the aforementioned page, under the year 2008. You can also be ultra-cool and go watch this old little school project of mine on YouTube!

That’s all for now, see you soon! =)

Aethereal – Pilot Episode

Who’s back with an update in a decent amount of time and has two thumbs?

This chick! *points to self*

This week I am promoting the fantasy web series Aethereal.

In Aethereal, a young wizard and a grizzled private detective team up to take down a corporate cabal of dark magic bent on world domination.

I am currently working on this project as the director of photography and as an actress. You can watch the first episode on the YouTube site or take a gander at the embedded video below.

This pilot episode was shot over 6 weekends in the spring, edited over the summer, and released online in early August. We are currently shooting the remainder of the first season over the next month and a half and hope to have more content online by the end of October.

The series has a nice mixture of magic, drama, and humor. The pilot episode is a bit long for internet audience attention spans, running at about 22 minutes in length, but definately worth the watch. Then again, I am a bit biased in my critique of this show. šŸ˜‰

Now, got watch it already!

I Remember…

…a time when I used to update this site!

Hah hah hah! LOL! ROFLMAO!

Now that my bad joke is out of the way, let’s move onto some actual content…

I’ve added a new piece to the Film & Animation page entitled I Remember. This is a music video my friend David Sprinkle released under his artistic alias of Pulse Depravity.

And here’s an interesting side note…The video actually employs a bunch of footage we shot over two years ago for use in other unfinished projects. So, be totally awesome and go watch it now! =)

An Update!?!?! WTFOMGLOLZ!?!

It’s a content update folks!

Yea, I know…it’s been a while…

Anywho, the FilmĀ page is FINALLY live! Yay! Right now only my most recent film related work is posted, but I hope to get some older movies up in the near future.

Also, one new photo was added to the Portfolio section of the site. You can either head over there or simply look below this text to see one of my personal favorite photographs.

This is one of those perfect shots…the kind where you open the file in Lightroom and realize that the photo is perfect straight out of the camera… <3

Life is busy with work and film projects, but I really do hope to have another update here soon. Until then…Enjoy! =)

Monkey’s Paw Gives Girl Tonsillitis

Well, I’ve spent most of the past week in bed, sick as a dog, trying my best to fight against a very obnoxious tonsil infection. That’s right, I’ve got full blown tonsillitis.

Tonsillits - MRC Style

Yes, that is a picture of my infected tonsils…and I’m not going to get into how difficult it is to get a decently lit photo of your tonsils…

Needles to say…I feel great! And by great I do in fact mean that I feel like a giant, warm, stinking pile of shit!

So, since I feel like crap I’m going to keep this post short and sweet.

My buddy Chris Sprinkle finished work on his short film The Monkey’s Paw! It is a rather quirky silent film based on W.W. JacobsĀ short story. I play one of the main characters in the film, Sarah, who goes just a little nutty…

Watch and enjoy!

3 Day Film Challenge

October was Horror Film Fun Month!

I participated in theĀ 3 Day Film Challenge – Horror Edition, sponsored by Emerging Artist Productions and theĀ San Jose Short Film Festival.

The notion of the 3 Day Film Challenge is to create a short film in the time span of three days (that’s 72 whole hours!).

We, the local filmmakers who participated, worked in small teams to create epically awesome short films. We had no idea what sub-genre of horror (vampire, werewolf, mummy, clown, scary monster, etc.)Ā we were working with until the first night of the comeptition. Team leaders chose a random sealed envelope that contained our ultimate film fate and once this information was obtained script writing ensued…then filming…editing…lack of sleep…food…special effects…more editing…death…all that good stuff associated with filmmaking!

What usually takes months and months, and many more months, to accomplish was completed in 3 days.

To say the least…it was INTENSE…but it was also FUN FUN FUN!

The finished films were then showcased at the San Jose Short Film Festival for the world to see! The audience voted on their favorite short, prizes were awarded, and the good times rolled on and on and on…

Witch’s Reign, the film I worked on with team Sonic Death Monkey (Elizabeth Hatcher, Tim Sudano, and Mark Sudano) won 2nd place! Yea, that’s how much our comedic-campy-horror flick rocked!

Unfortunatly, we do not have the film up on You Tube as we are contemplating cleaning it up a bit and submitting it to other film festivals! That’s right…Witch’s Reign could be coming to a theatre near you! šŸ˜‰
